Horrible product topped by more horrible service!

Worst buying decision of my life: Buying Electrolux front loading washing machine EW - 1045 F

Overview

If you don’t read more just know I wouldn’t recommend any Electrolux products to even my worst enemies, not to mention friends!


Why? because they sell horrible product, have unresponsive and inept customer service.


If you want years of grief (heavily sado-masochistic) then you will get a pleasure from this product.


Quality of washing & Usability (in the rare cases when the machine is working):

  1. Very poor washing quality, it doesn’t even looks washed at all!




  2. Clothes are torn and buttons are dis-lodged (even though it is a front loading machine)




  3. Program setting are hard to use and hard to remember




  4. Program often doesn’t complete and the machine has to be manually drained which is a mess




  5. Sometimes dances around the room (due to massive vibrations)




  6. After few days after every repair event it sounds like a concord going overhead






General state of affairs

This machine remains broken for almost 9 months a year every year for the last 3+ years, has given nothing but grief, have been to their service centers at least 4 times, with countless home visits (30+ ) by inept technicians (who themselves admit how much trouble this machine is giving us). Everytime they repair, the same problem comes up again, and again it goes to their center. And this time around they charged 300 for transportation even though I was under Annual Maintenance Contract.


Customer Service

I have never been this frustrated with an entitity named customer service. They outsource their service. Neither the central office is responsive nor is their outsourcing partners.


The machine lies in their centers for 15-20 days, each blaming the other (outsourcing company headed by some Mr. Singh & the electrolux service entity). Finally after several requests and names dropping could I finally get them to deliver it.


Everytime in the past I have found their customer service to be unresponsive, everytime they have to take the machine to their service center and everytime after it returns it fails again on the same problem!

Their web site is horrible, at their global web site, all attempts to find any customer service email failed, and yes I am a techie who love solving problems!


At their delhi website (which took quite some detective work to find out) they responded by forwarding the email to the Kolkata office and as usual nothing happened!

Update:


After I emailed this review to Sr. Management at Electrolux, thanks to suggestions from user community of this website, everything started moving finally and yesterday my machine got replaced with a ’’new one but may have scratches or dent on it’’.
