Elephanta Caves is one part of the island.
Infact many tourist miss to explore the entire island.
The island has a scenic beauty if you go behind & view the JNPT & Nava Sheva.
Beware to return to the elephanta caves ferry before 6.00 PM as no electricity is found in this island.
Its a backward tourist place.
The island is isolated .. the history of the caves is not well described overthere. Its better to read the elephanta caves history books before you plan to visit.
The guides overthere ... give you information about the island but ... you may not believe at times.

Ferries are available at elephanta jetty which take you around the island. These are private ferries.
