So you think everything in the world has changed when you see happy faces shopping in malls, dancing in discs and enjoying a movie.Well even
I thought so until I felt humiliated, violated in a human sense, rejected at the Noida’s poshest all-night club ELEVATE.Night clubs are public places where you go to enjoy music, drinks and dance.Its supposed to be happy place!! or not..
I am a sofware engineer and so were my 3 friends of mine for the last 5-8 yrs, who went to ELEVATE which is considered to be the best disc in town.We are 2 couples , earn some living where we can own a flat , car and claim few overseas holidays anually.I came back from US 3 months back.
Now even if I am modest , we all are capable of looking classy and splash few thousands of rupees in a single night.So there we were on Saturday night June 28, 2008 in front of Elevate and trying to get entry.
Suddenly we were asked that do we have a reservation!! Wow that was news for us.Reservation ..and that too in disc in India, may be Playboy at Palms in Vegas should be doing that on a new year’s eve!!!As a matter of fact
I happen to be thereay New Year..but no they dont do that.This is just mentioned here to tell you all that ELEVATE has high standards than the highest place in Las Vegas , the sin city !!And how ignorant of me , I believed looking nice and cash was all you need at the night club anywhere on the world.
Any ways coming back to yesterday night when we requested big bouncers
and a sardarji , we were denied admission to the nightclub on basis that
we did not have reservation.After we waited 15 minutes , meanwhile
couple of couples moved out and few people moved in.We were shocked to
see many did not have reservation and these people so called
owners/bouncers/concierge of the club did not even bother to ask
them.Now we were waiting so close to the entrance that we could see
what was going on.Seems like they did not like us for some reason and
denied the entry.
Now we were already sad about this and asked them how could we make the
reservation.They gave us a number and asked us to call Ali.It was 12:30
in the night and we wanted to just go in.So we went out and called on
the same number , somebody named Ali answered and told us you do not
need reservation and we can come in right away, just 1500 per head is
needed and no sneakers were allowed.That really turned us off and we
went again at the entrance but the same answer came from them .No
Entry.We tried to ask a reason for being denied at the public place but
got none whatsoever.We told them about the call we just made and still
no was the answer.
They tried to man-handle us and literally thew us out.Now my question of this whole episode is:
Who gave them right ot deny people at the public place for no good reason or any reason at all?
Were they were personally picking people based on colour or caste ..may be just a guess?
We tried to complain to the authority but who is that authority...nobody or themselves?
What was going on at the club that we normal people were denied entrance , may be just to hide something(drugs, pimping....)???
Does running a club or being a bouncer make them GOD to treat people like untouchables?
Can we report this to police , is there any right in our democracy.?
Even if make a complain , can we beleive that any justice is returned to
make us feel so humiliated for no reason at all , from the people who
run a night club all night long while all others close at 12 am? Do we
have any hope to get even a 5 letter word like sorry who pay bundles
for running the disc whole night?
And last but not the least,
Does any one comprehend that we four feel so disgusted by the whole
episode that we do not wish to go to any mall, movie and lastly on
earth any discs and near future unless we just compromise with all the
agony inside.??
Just need some opinion and sorry from the owners with a reason for the whole choice....
