Eleven Minutes, written by Paulo Coelho is a literal journey of a young woman. It is story about a prostitute Maria, a small towner.In search of true love or passion for true love made her life miserable.Finally she convinced her that love is a bitter experience for her and she will never get any true love. Unfortunately she locates the path of prostitution in search of adventure and money.
This is bit different kind of creation by ‘Paulo Coelho’, Strong , Provoking Subject. Paulo Coelho used the character of Maria to express the sensitive matter ‘sacred nature of sex and love’.
The main character of this novel is Maria and through this character ‘Paulo Coelho’ has pointed various form of love and sex. At the age of eleven how a girl fall in love and then how the meaning or context of love keep changing for the Girl. At one point Maria was so confused while analyzing her life in Switzerland as a dancer. Gradually she sets her path for prostitution and then she did analysis of her life and lots of questions were there in her mind. “Whether she is doing all these things because she need it or for getting more exposure or for a new kind of experience and pleasure.’ Always she has one thing in her mind that she needs money for her family and for her to enjoy rest of the life. Through her profession she met with different –different kind of customers and from all the customers she learned some new things.The ability of learning and analysis helped her to grow in her profession.One day she decided to go back home and then she met one person Ralf Hart and she thought that Ralf is her true love.Suddenly she faced an unwired situation with her one client and due to this she was on the backfoot.At this point she need to take a decision whether she wants to continue with her work or go with her true love.
Well we all know that ‘Paul Coelho’ works somehow associated with everyone’s day to day life.
Paul has used simple and strong phrases to explore the soul of a prostitute, her sexual encounters and her professional and personal frustrations. The situation and scenario both are properly configured and nicely potrate, due to this reader will not feel bore at any point. It needs courage to explore this kind of subject.
I am glad to see that a famous writer like Paul has used very simple comprehensive language which is readable and easy to understand.I am not a Book Worm but still I love to read Paul’s creation.
Full credit to Paul Coelho for his first adult themes which is well written. Must read book which will force you to think about one of the provoking subject.
