Purchased Elica chimney 2 1/2 years back and since then I had to change some electronic board 2 times, 1st time it was within warranty and 2nd time I had to pay Rs.1350 + Rs.250 (service charges).
They say that it happens due to high voltage, but only why elica product is giving problem when TV and washing machine was on at that time, when suddenly elica chimney stopped working. I have spike protectors installed in my house with MCBs for each and every room.
They told me that slight fluctuation will cause the problem. They even sent people to check the voltage at my house, but still not convinced with the correct voltage.
I told them that in India, you can’t expect voltage fluctuations not to be there and you have to design the product so that it can withstand such fluctuations. I asked them to suggest using stabilizers in their ads itself, for the chimneys that elica manufactures.
Even one of my friend had a similar problem with board.
