My car Ford Figo met with an accident when it was kept in front of the house. It was a case of hit and run case by an unknown mischief maker at midnight. So I had taken my new car (1 month old) to Elite Ford for service, the same place from where I had bought the vehicle. In the accident, my car suffered damage below the tail lamp, bumper and some scratches on the front. Vijay Dev (The one who was taking care of my car) said you need to change everything (tail Lamp, below metal part, bumper, front headlight and boot door etc.) even though it was not required (it could be adjusted with small painting which is less than 1 CM length on boot door). I did not accepted that since I dont have the bumper to bumper. However initially Hameed (Manager) had sent a quote of 67K, after my strong email he brought it down to 43K. This is really a massive difference and I agreed to repair without changing the Boot door and head lamp. I have Bajaj Allianz Ford insurance, which he said it will cover 70% on painting charges initially and from my pocket, I needed to pay 6, 000-8000/-.
After repairs, 1 and half week later, I got a bill of 12700/-. After so many arguments I got the car, but the car door was not closing properly, there was lot of gap. When I told the mechanic and Manager about this, only then did they do something but the problem still persisted. I got fed up of the service (including Bajaj Allianz) they have provided throughout my dealings with Elite ford, though I am a new customer. I felt like leaving the car there (Elite ford) itself. But what to do as a common man, I have to compromise on my angry and express it this way.
Finally I suggest you to ask them clearly to give exact quote (it can vary up to 500 not like 6000/-). Also tell that you would not pay them if it cross more than the expected.
