For breakfast or for a quick snack, for serving unexpected guests, for a picnic or as packed lunch, a packet of instant white dhoklas is a must on your kitchen shelf. In a jiffy you can serve up a fancy looking meal and a side dish is not a problem when you have some gunpowder at hand or some leftover sambar. Why be conservative? Not only can it suit a host of chutneys, dry or wet, but you can surely experiment with any leftover curry or just plain dahi.
I first found out about white dhokla from my DIL. Ever since I’ve developed a taste for it. This is the second brand of instant white dhokla that I’m trying and I quite like it. However, eating out is not my cup of tea and one can make a great plate of white dhoklas at home for less than a fraction of the cost of buying it ready made from a mithai shop or having it at a hotel.
It is cheap and easy to make. At Rs. 50 for 180 gms it provided us with some 2-3 uses as breakfast for two.
The instructions at the back of the pack are sensible and not hard to follow.
This experience makes me eager to try other Emar products.
