THE FOLLOWING TEXT IS MY EXPERIENCE WITH EMODE. DESPITE MY NUMEROUS E-MAILS, THEY REFUSE TO REPLY TO ME. BEWARE THIS COMPANY!!!
~march 27, 2003: I click on an advertisement or link to take an iq test. I enjoy it and pay $14.95 for a report. am a satisfied customer at this point. thanks for the great product and experience. I referred 3 friends.
april 5, 2003: my visa is charged $9.95 and I don’t know why. I call emode to question the charge and get a recording that asks me to communicate via e-mail for ’’faster’’ response time. I comply. several days later, I got a message from someone saying they did not recognize my e-mail address so they could not help me. I replied with a copy of an e-mail that had been sent to me and the situation was cleared up. I was informed that I had unknowingly ’’signed up’’ for a subscription when I bought my report for $14.95.
april 27, 2003: my visa is reimbursed $9.95. I am again satisfied, although now a bit leery of the business practices of emode and left feeling that your customer service could be abit faster and more on top of things. I mention to my referrals that they should be careful.
May 5, 2003: emode charges my visa $9.95 again. $#$%%#$$%#
May 8, 2003: I send another e-mail to emode asking for this fee to be refunded and to stop charging me. I am not a member of your service nor do I want to be.
May 16, 2003: after receiving no response to my prior e-mail, I resend with further explanation.
May 26, 2003: still no reply and no refund, I find your website, log in and figure out how to cancel the membership that I have been trying to cancel for 2 months, having never knowingly subscribed in the first place, having canceled once via your customer service dept, and having been ignores 2 times as I try to cancel again.
MAY 26: I call my credit card company to refuse payment of the May 5 charge for $9.95. i’m telling anyone who will listen to stay away from emode.
May 29: I still have not heard back from emode, so I will find a place to post my experience with emode on any bulletin board regarding IQ and personal testing that I can find and I will send a letter to the better business bureau describing your business practices.
$9.95 is not going to make a difference in my life. but I don’t like to be cheated or ignored.
