Im walking down a road, in the famous Mumbai. All around me are clothes shops, flats, restaurants, sandwich and bhel puri stalls, chudi and hair accessory stalls, a shoe polisher, a young boy of ten, making shoes squeaky clean for just 4 rupees.
A smell of bhel puri wifts to my nose, and makes my stomach rumble...but no, I resist the temptation.
I see a particularly nice Chudidar in a shop, like which I have been searching for weeks, but still, I ignore that shop and stroll on.
I begin to get desperate now....where is it? It was there a year ago, it cant have gone!
But then, the world stops, and in front of me, a spotlight shines on it, and violins play in the background, as I face one of the most wonderful things ever. An Aarey Booth.
When I was exploring mouthshut, I happened to chance upon this topic, aur phir, I knew I had to write a review on it!!! After all, I had to do something for the drink I love so much...but sadly, they only sell it in India :(. So people, I share my experiences with you, in the hope that those of you in India dont miss out!!!
I first tried Energee when I was...oh I must have been seven and I had come to India for a wedding. My family and I were feeling particularly thirsty in the typical humid weather, and there wasnt a restaurant in sight...but then, my mum suggested that we tried Energee, from a nearby Aarey Booth. She bought me Pineapple Energee, and I remember thinking, almost knowing but not quite that I would hate it. But I was wrong....I loved it. And everyday after that, we visited that same booth, and tried the delicious flavours of Pista, Strawberry, Lychee and Butterscotch.
Energee is marketed by Aarey, a milk product company, which markets prodcuts such as butter, cheese, milk and obviously ENERGEE!!!! It is one of Indias main dairy companies, which sells 100% good quality, clean products. It is available in 200ml bottles...but you will probably find yourself buying two or three bottles, its too addictive!!!!
When a friend told me she had never tried Energee, I nearly fainted. How could she have not tried it, despite living in India and having the opportunity for years. I tried to describe it to her, but it was no use. She had to try it for herself.
It was milk, but no ordinary milk, flavoured milk....but no ordinary flavoured milk, the most delicious you could ever taste. Available in different flavours, there is something for everyone to enjoy!!!
I would sell this drink to any mother wanting her child to drink milk, because, then the child wouldnt just drink it, he/she would be addicted to it! So see the magic of Energee!!!!
I am very sad to know that Aarey Booths are gradually decreasing in Mumbai, now it is very hard for me to find them and I have to walk 2 miles to go to one!! We have to make Energee popular again, so more people can savour it!
So people living or holidaying in India, its your chance, take it or leave it. Enjoy the experience of Energee while youre there, because youll sorely miss it when youre not! An unforgettable taste.....
Dont forget to RRC....for Energee!!!
