A star studded side, England was unable to do much at the World Cup. Although it did win against Argentina and Denmark, it was unable to cross the big hurdle, the one being Brazil. England lacked people attacking. With David Beckham curling in those crosses, there was no one tall to head them inside. The tall chaps were at the back, the ones being Rio Ferdinand and Sol Campbell. Only Michael Owen was able to do some damage, or rather, to try and do some damage. With electric speed, the man just charged and shot. It wasnt his month though. Steven Gerrard, a huge plus point for the team, was absent in the World Cup campaign and thus, England lacked some attack as he was not present. Paul Scholes didnt get too many opportunities to hit the ball and make it scream, else England would have had a few more goals.
I am an English soccer fan, and will back England in the Euro 2004 and in Germany 2006.
Hopefully, till then Emile Heskey will be replaced and we wont have to be playing without Gerrard and Gary Neville.
