I had purchased this printer in 2018 after almost ten years of attachment( not sure if this the right word) with the HP inkjet family of printers and having learnt one valuable lesson - the cost of a new printer is a misnomer as the cost of the ink is what determines the real cost of printing for home use . On this front ie the cost of refill is where the Espon L series printers scores big time . This model has now been discontinued as newer models have been introduced and the cost of genuine Epson ink refills is very nominal and will not hit your printing budget - something that my HP inkjet printer used to do regularly . So if you thinking of a home printer for use by your kids for school work look no further than the Epson series . This model is equipped with a Wifi mode also and therefore printing from a mobile phone is a breeze using the epson printing app. Prints are of good quality including color prints and cartridge cleaning is required to be done only occasionally. But ink refilling is a little messy affair as the ink has to be poured into the designated tanks( there are four of them for the four different colors) . The Epson series has a reported issued with paper carriage sensor malfunction which duly appeared on my printer after about two years of use . Please be warned that this printer is no more supported by Epson service centre and you will have to rely on your local printer service repair man for any repair or service. but all in all a superb printer for home use for both black and white and color printing.
