I bought the printer in feb 2009. I hardly printed 5 to 6 pages of text in black ink. and printed 2 coloured text page. My black ink cartridge got over & all colour cartridges are 50% only. I had to buy black cartridge again. There are 2 types of cartridges73N model is 9ml ink(rs400/-), and model 91M is 7 ml ink(Rs250/-). I noticed that, the 73N cartridges you get along with printer packing contain only 2ml ink. One will know this only when the cartridge igets empty in first 10 printouts. If you need to buy cartridge of Rs 400/- each for 4 of them after merely 6 - 7 printouts, then this printer is very expensive in terms of initial cost, compared to competitors product. I dont know about recurring cost in long term yet. I recommend, while you compare prices with HP, think of spending Rs 1600/- for cartrighes within couple of days after printer purchase. I do not know what is the ink quantity of HP cartridge that comes for Rs 600/- approx.
OTHER DISADVANTAGES-
I also found the paper loading from back as not a good option compared to my earlier HP. front loading at bottom is always convenient than reaching to the back and keeping papers vertical, consuming vertical height of a traully space.
The printer takes very long time for first printout after pw on. I can have a nap within or go for a tea break. Subsequent printouts are slower than my earlier HP.
Thefast economy option is useless as it hardly put any ink on paper that u can read. The next better option uses a lot of ink and as close as BEST quality print. There is not enough optimised setting as compared with HP
