Here are the list of shortcomings of being employed at Ericsson India Global Services Pvt. Ltd:
The company has a well-trained internal communications department, to make the employees feel like they are part of "the next big thing in making". Sadly, what you will be working on is just regular technology within everyones comprehension.
Theyve got a set of cultural values that may seem well-thought of, but the hypocritical management doesnt work to implement these values, out of which respect is undoubtedly the most forgotten of all values. Some Directors(from the Leadership Team) carry childish and escapist attitudes. Many managers have the tendency to condescend and intimidate their subordinates to get their jobs done - this, especially, seems to have spread across all units like wildfire.
You may be assigned projects that not even your Project Manager knows how to handle, and if you get stuck somewhere or need guidance, the only point of contact you are likely to have is someone from the San Jose site - certainly no place for fresher developers.
The company thrives on cost-cutting and even the most basic of amenities arent sponsored by the company. Employee satisfaction is probably the last thing they care about. No chance of a decent salary raise, not even close to industry standards. Youll gain more by switching to another company.
It is simply shocking that a coke can worth Rs.25 is sold in the cafeteria(that is inside the premises) for Rs.30. This issue has been escalated several times to no avail. Forget about tasty food. Eggs sold are from the previous days of the week, and soft drinks(cans and bottles) carry the pungent stench of old, uncleaned, and out-of-use refrigerators.
If you are on contract, they promise a lot of things during the interview, but you will simply be treated like an outsider all along. Forget about respect and be ready to tolerate pointless criticisms. You will be overloaded with work, with no compromise on deadlines. Mismanagement will prevail no matter how many times it has been reported to the escalation matrix. No HR support from within Ericsson; you need to contact the company whose payroll youre on.And heres a list of advantages of being employed in Ericsson (not for contracted employees):
Slow and steady growth
Flexible work timings(but be ready to work overtime upon demand)
A little bit of diversity in the team
A good place for nerds and those who enjoy occasional team lunches and outings
Theres a Toastmasters Club(an international public speaking club)
Free advise from a former employee - Join this company if youve got nowhere else to go.
