I stepped up to the T28 after owning it’s cousin, the Ericsson I888 world phone (which I owned after having probably four other phones.) The T28 is the best of the lot and will likely be a permanent fixture for me. Here’s why: Small, lots of accessories, good feature set in the phone itself, good sound quality, worldwide availability (this phone may not make sense for users who don’t travel extensively) and it’s built solid as a rock
. The only quirks I’ve found are: The desktop charger, which sometimes indicates that a battery is still charging when I know it’s juiced up. Also, you have to pop the phone into the charger the right way as well or else you’ll think you’re charging when you’re really not. Also, the phone has a tendency to work its way out of the belt holder and the holder itself tends to slip off my waist. Minor, but sometimes annoying problems. One cute feature (which I suspect other phones do as well) is that when you place the phone in the desk charger, it’s smart enough to forward calls to another number. This is very useful around the house -- no more vaulting over the sofa to get to the phone. Calls are shot right to my home number. Pop the phone out of the charger and it automatically switches off call forwarding. Very cool. The screen, though small, is easy to read, navigation through the menus is on par with competing offerings. I reviewed a number of phones before swapping my I888 (which I was very happy with as well) and am very satisified with the T28 -- highly recommended.
