There is always a need of file manager for android devices as there isnt any inbuilt one. In my thoughts es file explorer is all you need for all your file explorer needs ( free) . Yes there are better file managers if you are willing to pay for it ( my bet is on solid explorer) .
Pros
- File managing
-can handle all the tasks like copy, paste and rename
-has built in viewers for photos, videos, music and some documents
-built in rar and zip support
-send files over wifi ( like xender and ftp)
-capable of root exploring ( inbuilt text editor helps a lot)
- Cloud services
-has all the famous cloud integration ( check attached image)
-copy paste between cloud services are done easily
- Ftp, smb support
-smb integration helps in viewing files of computer on and
-ftp does it opposite ( view files of android on PC)
- Space analyzer
-managing space was never so easy, no need for another application
-shows temp files and caches to clean
wondering where your precious storage is being used, this tool will show you the culprit files and folders Note- solid explorer lacks this feature
- Logger
-sometimes this event logger comes in handy
App manger and locker
Inbuilt browser
probably you are never going to use it
- Encryption
-you can encrypt files; can only be opened through es file explorer only ( use encrypted zip otherwise)
Note-i noticed how fast it encrypts file, same time needed for 1 GB or 10 Mb file. Googled it then found there is catch in encryption process. It only encrypts start and end portion of file, so it is not the safest way.
Cons
-lots and lots of advertisement
-logger sometimes annoys
-doesnt encrypts the whole file ( data can be decyrpted more easily than fully encryted data)
Verdict
-if you need a free file explorer go for it and please dont buy its pro version( updates are not coming) .
-but if you are willing to pay for a file manager, solid explorer is best for you.
Note-review of solid explorer is coming so do follow.
