The fact that someone even chose to write about her might be a bit of a shocker to some members but you have to hand it to her. This girl is fighting against odds and is trying hard to make a mark.
When Esha Deol came on the screen I reckon 99.99% of the people who saw her were very critical (including me!) and resented the fact that star kids like her get breaks only because of their surnames. The truth is in any field connections do matter and at the end of the day its about what you make of the opportunity that is given to you which makes you a winner or a loser.
To be honest I haven’t even bothered to see a single picture of her’s prior to yuva simply because her looks put me off but never judge a book by its cover they say. Esha slowly but surely realized the importance of being earnest :) and is obviously dead serious about her career suddenly. After her flops she chose to not do trash but sit back and do small parts in ensemble multistarrers and it seems the strategy has paid off! everyone goes off about her look in dhoom but for me it was yuva which turned the tide. esha was barely there in the movie but in the few scenes she had she made a lasting impression. She personified the typical girl next door and under mani ratnam’s guidance things worked! she was finally noticed.
Then she showed her dedication for getting into a role with dhoom. her transformation in the movie was remarkable. even her sternest critics would agree that from what she was to what she is, is a complete 360. finally I caught main aisa kyon hoon the other day and was pleasently suprised to see esha deol making a mark in a small but significant role yet again.
Only good things can happen now for her if she plays her cards well. Here’s to a slow starter who’s suddenly transforming into a head turner!
