With a view to let a business learn - particularly in food something very close to my heart - I have undertaken some fair criticisms here :
Great ambiance - the look - the Calcutta streets - so refreshing
Very very bad mock tails - the liquid and the pulp separate within 5 seconds - happened to all our drinks-panna was specially horrible
Decent food - will pass off easily as Bengali to non Bengalis - I have lived enough years in Bengal to call myself Bengali
And here in lies my disconnect - I believe that a business should deliver what they say - I do not think you should have 101 dishes on the menu - if you can prepare just 10 well.Call it " Basic Bengali " in that case and it will make you authentic enough.
But as is a trend I guess in Bangalore, the ambiance - so much more important than the core offering - so few businesses say what they give and deliver.
I recommend the place for the ambiance alone and a few dishes.
