Cricinfo is Cricket Information

I have been following match-scores live on the Internet for the last 5 years now. I’ve tried a lot of sites, but this turns out to be the best. A comparison with some other cricket based websites makes it stand out as a clear winner.

Ok, for a start, lets talk about the cricket matches that they showcase on their site. Almost all live international matches are available on cricinfo. You can get to see the live scorecards of any match you select as it happens. And if you are one of those guys who stay on the net long enough, then you can just open the live match update page in a window, minimize it and it will refresh itself automatically every 2-3 minutes and you will get an update instantly. Along with the scorecard, you can get a brief commentary of the last few balls.

But thats not all to cricinfo. It has loads of articles about current and past happenings in the world of cricket. And these articles are written by eminent cricket journalists from all countries including India, England, Pakistan, Australia and among others. Its a delight reading these articles as they appear each week. My personal favorite column is ’Ask Steven’ where you can send in your questions by mail Which will be answered each week by Steven Lynch, an eminent British writer. I can give an example here - it is through this column that I got to know that Rajesh Chauhan played 21 tests for India, and India won 12 of them and lost none. This seems to be a unique kind of record for a player who has never seen a defeat in his entire career.

Cricinfo can help you keep pace with all the tours and matches going around the world. You can gether information for just about any past or present first class, test match or one-day international match that has ever been played. I have seen records dating back to the 18th century, which clearly shows how properly they have maintained the statistics of cricket matches played in the past. The ’statsguru’ comes in handy if you are looking up the records about a player (both past and present). It is actually a pleasure reading some of the articles as they appear during an important tournament. I would recommend you to look at CricInfo during the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy. Trust me, if you are looking for expert comments, then there is no better place to be than CricInfo.
