I was working on a project. I was using my MacBook. I had to deliver a solution to somebody whom I had promised. Suddenly, I had problems with my MacBook.
I realized it needed some QUICK servicing. I created an Id on etechies.in. I later called(080-60006464) for discussing the Service offers and packages for my MacBook. The executive promised lot of things for annual service charges with sugar-coated words. I believed them at this point of time. I made a payment of 7, 000 INR online.(They even receive payments from the executive who comes to pick up your laptop/desktop from home.)
Executive came home on the same day at 3.30PM. He appeared to me as a person who was not aware much of Apple products. But, still he saw the laptop. He dropped my brand new battery down on the floor while trying to take it out!(Can you imagine?)
Then, I reasoned it with that executive that I need a STATUS of the laptop immediately or else I was not not going to wait as I could not afford to wait. He said, he will deliver the laptop to JC road service center and they will call me back around 7PM.
It was 8PM, nobody called me back. I was worried, so, I called 080-60006464 and pressed ’2’. One lady picked the call and said. "Servers down. No information available. I will arrange a call back ".
I waited till 9PM and nobody called me. I called the etechies number at 11PM like 10 times and nobody picked the call. The executive had told me quite vividly that they work 24X7.
Now, I got really angry. Because, the next day was a Saturday and it was a republic day. I imagined it was not fair to expect any response or for them to work. So, I decided to wait till Sunday.
In my busy schedule on Sunday, I sneaked out of meetings and kept on trying to reach etechies.in. One whole day I tried calling and nobody was receiving! I was really angry with unprofessional attitude on Sunday.
Monday came. I was determined to reach them on the phone and ask them the status. I really needed that status. I really didn’t expect a bad response like this. To my shocking surprise. I could not reach them whole of Monday.
So, Tuesday I tried to give it one last whirl. I called several times in the morning. They simply were not receiving any calls. So, I decided to write an email.
Then, etechies lady immediately called me back. The reasons she give me was
We need vendors and kindly give us some time.
Backend guys were not working on Sunday.
I reasoned to her how "Unprofessional" they were acting.
After 15 minutes I again got a call from another lady from etechies saying:
friday, saturday, sunday they were not working.
They need some time to find MAC experts.
They need 4to5 working days.
They have exhibited clearly their inability and unprofessional behavior.
In the end, I have lost my time, my peace of mind, so many calls, my MacBook not with me, 7, 000 INR gone. My brand new MacBook battery is lying in some God-knows-which-shady-backend-office it is piled up!
I want my MacBook back!
