LONDON GATWICK - ABU DHABI
On May 23rd 2005 I took a flight from London Gatwick - Abu Dhabi on EY308. It was the best flight I have ever flown in! Our departing time was 11am and we actually left 10 minutes early! The passenger load was only 40 people out of 225 the plane can handle. Very roomy. Only 1 person in Diamond class and the rest in coral. Pre-flight drinks and hot towels were an added bonus. Water was then handed out just before departure. As soon as the crew could they were there with the drinks trolley. Todays flight was on an Airbus A330-200. No personal IFE system but drop down screens still very good. The menu was then handed out choice of
Appetiser
Baby shrimps with zucchini salad
marinated baby shrimp, with dill in a zucchini salad
Main Course
Fillet of Hoki in black bean source(signature dish)
or
Arabian Lamb Machbous
or
Chinese Stir-fry noodles with vegtables
Dessert
Chocolate Alcazar
rich chocolate slice, served with rasberry coulis
Bread Rolls and Butter
Beverages
Tea, Brazilian coffee or hot Chocolate
After the meal was served a third set of drinks was offered and then duty frees. After that cheese bites. We were then instructed to press the service button if we needed anything. Movies on this flight were
In good company
Racing Stripes
Hide and seek
-
Also after ever movie there was an update of location and time etc to destination
About 2 hours before landing we were offered Tea refreshments and beverages. Which were sandwiches and beverages. Before landing the FAs offered ever one some water. We touched down on time. Exited the plane to a very full airport, surprised to find that my case was the first off and no waiting for anyone! Overall a very good flight I dont know why other people moan about them. As a newish airline they are doing very well. Just a few more aircraft and destinations they will be on a league with Qatar and Emirates. Etihad airways anyday!
