Is aquaguard really safe?

Hi

Eureka forbes advertises so many things about their aquaguard range of products. But when I asked the salesman to furnish the proof, he failed and simply was trying to convince me that it has all been certified and why nobody is complaining during so many years of their service.

I am not a chemistry guy, so cannot say how effective their filter is. Activated charcoal does work as a safe adsorbing (not absorbing agent). But when I studied microbiology, they said and still when I practise the use of UV ray for sterilising equipments etc in my lab, we have to expose the surfaces or the materials to UV for atleast 15-20 minutes for a proper sterilisation.

I wonder when the water in the said purifier moves around a jacketed tube radiating uv and receives the exposure for just a few seconds or so, how the germs are safely killed by them?

Even if we cannot follow the regular servicing as we sometimes tend to ignore it at the homes, we never know when the candle stops functioning. Even with a new installation we had severe trouble with candles within a few months and started adding mal odor to the water.

I wonder really if its, worth 7000/-+?
