High HIDDEN COSTS

The marketing wing of Eureka Forbes’ is pretty aggresive and goes all out to woo the customers to buy their products. But the sad part is that they are not transparent in highlighting or conveying all of the hidden costs involved in the product that they sell.

I have bought the latest iNova Aqua-guard and it has been doing well until now. But the candles, carbon-filter contained needs to be replaced at least every year and that by itself costs close of Rs.650 and the cost for replacing them is an additional 150 and making it a cool Rs.800 every year. This was something that I discovered of late. I would have second thoughts about buying this product, if its gonna cost me Rs.800 per year. I would rather buy bottled water for this cost and be done with it.

Also, when these high maintenance parts are not replaced, the unit is no better than a junk. Water passing through this unit is contaminated by those used candles, carbon and stuff. So, watch out for all these hidden costs before you select the product that you are interested in.

Dear Mr. PremThe Candle and Carbon filter in your Aquaguard iNOVA work by eliminating / trapping harmful impurities. They are thus subject to wear and tear associated with purification of contaminated water and hence need to be replaced. Your Aquaguard iNOVA is a point of consumption water purification system that provides absolutely pure safe drinking water in your homes. At Rs. 1000 per year the cost works out to less than Rs. 3 per day and assuming your family consume 15 litres of water every day (The avg consumption by families) the cost per litre comes to approximately 20 paise per litre. Please do let us know if you need any further clarifications / assistance.Regards,Siddhartha SinghBrand Manager
