I will never buy a Eureka Forbes ever in my life

A little Introduction about myself: I am an MBA with a Major in Marketing from XLRI Jamshedpur. I shifted to Bangalore recently and wanted to get a water purifier installed at my place. The brand recall for AquaGuard was very quick because I grew up drinking aquaguard water. My Mother has almost all Eureka Forbes product - Water Purifier, Vacuum Cleaner and a Mixer Grinder(Tornado)... Which Eureka Forbes has apparently stopped selling.This issue has proved my belief on "Trust" that needs to be maintained in all relationships. I am in a service Industry myself and I keep telling my people...


If you loose trust with your customers once, It would be hard to regain it. Never do that. Anyways, Eureka Forbes representative has broken my trust beyond  repair and my thoughts got reinforced when I read all these reviews here. ... I wish I had read them even before making a decision to buy the product. I planned to write this review to make more people awaqre of what this company is doing and if their sales force is not tackled well, they will loose out the so called legacy. While I was evaluating the various products, I was aware that with my knowledge, it was impossible to find the credentials of any product in this segment. So, I decided to go with my mother’s advice and our good old "Trusted" Aquaguard from Euraka Forbes. I have never seen my mother having any issues with Eureka Forbes. In fact, she was praising thier strong service network and prompt response...


Anyways the decision was made and a phone call to the helpnine numbers made.The salesman ... I was told later on that he is one of the Managers (Kumar Reddy) from the pie layout branch came and discussed about the product. He did not have to make any effort as the buying decision was already made. Since I was setting up the house, getting a new card etc. in Bangalore, I was a little hard pressed with cash so I suggested that he contacts me in the first week on Jan’07 when I will get th eproduct installed from him. He persuaded me to install the product right away and suggested that he will get an imprint on the credit card and present the same on 1st Jan’07 . I agreed and the product got installed on 16th Dec’06(After 2-3 phone calls.. ).During the course of sale however, when I asked the salesman...


Oops sorry.. the Manager about why Aquaguard was not even mentioned in a recently concluded event by WHO where two companies were awarded the best company for water purifier and the best domestic water purifier awards.... , he had no answer except that the WHO did not invite them to look at their products. Their product do not require any certification as it is certified by ..... IMA , etc etc. It was hard to digest for me because I was not able to come to a logical conclusion of whatever he said.Anyways , back to the water purifier ... installed and everything fine when I recd. My Credit card Bill. This person had charged my Credit Card the same day ...16th Dec. I made some calls to whic he did not respond. 3-4 days later he responded and agreed that it was a mistake and he will give me back the cash and get a new chargeslip embossed. Then he disappeared again.Any attempts to get in touch with him now was futile. The gentleman had stored my number and would not answer the phone.


I was feeling cheated. Finally I got in touch with his supervisor ... some Johny and he made some arrangements but he would also keep fallint to his commitments of sending someone to take care.I would have made some 50-60 Phone calls in the process and I was already fed up of their service. I decided to get rid of the product and after a lot of effort, I managed to get the refund of the product.In short :With this kind of a product, the credibility of the product is determined with its service. If that is where Eureka Forbes is lacking, they need to start seeing this problem seriously.


I can see here that one out of 13 reviews suggest that people should not buy an aquaguard. And most of the people are complaining about the poor service.I wish Eureka Forbes people are listening. To any prospective buyers .. please look at other alternatives :Kent and Zero B just for the award from WHO and its’ credibility cannot be questioned
