Aquaguard i-nova was a comparatively new entrant to our house now... but for the past 6 months of use, it had been doing fine. With the new compact design and the capabilities the representatives described to us, we spent around Rs.7800 (7690/- for the product and 100 for the plastic cover to it) on it and go the new purifier installed.
It had been working fine ever since, replacing the mineral water bucket in our kitchen. We were happy that atleast we dont have to consume additives while quenching our thirst. The day it was installed, we were told about some formalities to be carried out while using it
1) the water shouldnt be used for more than 2 days
2) the candles have to be cleaned once in a while (which is a little bit of trouble
3) if the purifier is unused for a period of may be more than a couple of days, the first 2-3 litres of water need to be poured out before using it again.
These sounded ok to us as long as we got good water. We were supposed to get a servicing after 6 months (and another one later during the year). The purifier as such did not cause any trouble and worked ok. So we were not bothered about the service at all. But one day when we were back home we saw a slip on the doorknob saying the service man had come while we were out. It had a phone number in it and we were supposed to ring back and confirm another date with them.
Promptly, I rang them up and they agreed to give a visit the very next day. We stayed back home that weekend just to receive the technician but of no use. I rang up again and again, but the technician is still to come after 3-4 fixed yet missed appointments. They never turned up after the product was sold.
But I shall never blame the product, it still serves our needs and does so perfectly well. The only problems are
1) It wont remove hardness if the water is hard ( they say it does upto 70% and from our experience too we feel the hardness is reduced considerably)
2) It wont work without power
3) It needs an extra fitting of a pipe (which the technician will do while installing)
4) It takes about 30 seconds for the water to start coming out from the outlet tap
But otherwise, the product is worth a try.
