I bought this model in 2006 at electronics shop in bangalore. There was lot of advertising going on.
I found that working of this filter is normal and I had not faced any problem in 2 years. Also, it looks are very contemporary to modern kitchen.
Now coming to darker sides, exctly after a year, I thought servicing it as mentioned in booklet provided. so, I called up customer care (39883333). I asked them to send a person for service. For weeks, there was no reply.
Later I called up again and managed to get a ocal service centre number. (somewhere in electronic city, hosur road, bangalore). I called up lady at service centre and she promised me to send the person in day or two. No response for few weeks...
I called up again. Same reply. No response for few weeks...............
Finally, after calling up 9th time (exact), they sent a service person. I welcomed him and it just took 15 mins to complete the job !!! what the h**...?? Yes... all he did was to open the lid on top, take out the filter and wash the filter and plug it back !! For such a simple job, he charged me Rs.250.00 !! You must be laughing at me !! All the effort I made to call up service guy and paid hefty amount !!.
Also, he offered me an AMC (annual maintenance contract) for Rs. 999 / year ! (that does not cover everything but only few part and servicing :-)). I just thanked for service and sent him.
I wonder how a company like eureka forbes where aqua guard name is synonym for water filters could manage to have pathetic after sales service. I still remember how eager, they were to install it first time and collect the cheques !!!!
My advice would be look for alternative and cheaper water filter brands and make sure you get good after sales service from them. "Don`t ever get fooled by brand names !!"
