I purchased Eureka Forbes Easyclean portabl vacuum (800 watts) 3 weeks back from a Croma showroom nearby. On the very first day of use, we realized what a big mistake we made by purchasing this. In the very first use, we realized that the product is nothing but a noise and air polluter. The vacuum makes a very loud industrial noise during usage and cleans very little. If the length of the nozzle is small it at least may be able to clean something, but if you try to use the different variety of brushes provided, it does nothing but push the dust away because of the physical contact with the surface. There is no suction for all the noise made.
We called up customer care listed on the box to lodge a complaint. They took all the complaint details and told that they will send the engineer same day.
The engineer did come, but he was for our Aquaguard. Big disconnect between customer care and service team. Since the guy had come, the Aquaguard person was told to address the vacuum problem. Talk about multi-tasking on the fly! The service engineer realized that the product is not functioning as it is supposed to. We called up customer care again. We were told that they will send the right person in a couple of days.
On the phone we complained about the loud noise, no work and high heat ( which makes its portability uncomfortable as you cannot carry the vacuum with the sling as demonstrated in the neat video without the risk of burn marks on your body. You have to carry in in one hand and away from your body). On the phone we were told that the product should only be used for cars and that to for at max 10 mins at a stretch and after that the product should be rested for 10 mins, else the motor will blow away.
The easyclean service engineer came 2 days later. Even he mentioned the same thing, that the product is at best for car cleaning and should not be used for more than 10 mins at a stretch. After some rigorous cleaning of the dust bag, the vacuum seems to be functioning with the smallest brush, but loud noise, heat problem and 10 mins rule remains.
All this leads me to believe that the company is falsely marketing the product. Its video shows usage in multiple house cleaning functions. No where is it mentioned on its box that the vacuum should not be used for more than 10 mins. Also there is no mention of the high heat generated by the vacuum and the risk of injury due to the heat. I dont think at this point the company will do anything more than say that "we have received other complaints too", but in my opinion, this purchase has made me rethink on the eureka forbes brand of products( Aquasure was always a disappointment). I think for all the money that the Tatas have spent on branding and marketing, some amount should also be spent in research and product innovation.
