Eureka Forbes their own employees are beating the system with or without the knowledge of management. I have purchased a Wet and Dry Vaccum Cleaner with Unit Serial No: 9069593 and Order No: 001097 on 16th May 2009. The sales people (Mr. Shyam) was telling me that unlike other vaccum cleaners in the market, this product is made of Mild Steel. Unfortunately not having the know how of this particular product, I believed them and after arranging Rs. 10000 in a month, I bought my first vaccum cleaner. Guys, its not mild steel. But plastic, cheating to make the sale ? Or may be the sales guy didnt know the truth. US it was Xeros who were best in Sales Training, India, it is (should I say was ?) Eureka.
Note : This particular product offered me free life time free service.
All is well, till the month of November, but thats when I had a chance to test the legendary service of Eureka Forbes. I am not being sarcastic here, and I really heard great things about their service from other customers. What you must note is that those were one of the first customers of them in the city - around 15-20 years back. I went to their corporate office at Titus towers, Palarivattom and mentioned about the issue. They noted in a diary, but no one called. In fact I forgot about the issue and didnt follow up either. After 2 months, by February , I again went to the office, and registered a new compliant. Again they noted it in a diary. Fortunately, after 4 days, the service people from another region, Aluva called in and one of their technicians came.
Did you know, when he opened the machine, I was shocked to see that it was all plastic against what their sales people told me. And almost every part was melted causing deformation. Technicians said, deformed parts will be replaced in a weeks time. A week passed, two weeks and three. Fourth week, I again went to office for the follow up and they were asking for the date and looks up in the diary for the compliant. Fed up with myself, needing to follow-up for an issue, I asked for a compliant number so that I can better track the issue. They said "you dont need a compliant number" and again noted something in the diary.
Three days later, the same technician came in, but unfortunately he missed to bring in third part, though he got other two. He told that he will bring it in the next day, but its been two weeks already and no news yet.
Guys, either the employees are cheating the system or the system of tracking the services is very poor.
Anyway, after this incident, I decided not to go for another Eureka Forbes product in my life, even though RoboCleanz interests me. Also stay away from this particular product. It may be the worst product from Eureka Forbes. You may go with the basic model, just as no complaints with the Classic model of AquaGuard from them. Given a chance I would have exchanged this vacuum cleaner with their basic model with mild steel.
Again, such a pathetic service. Funny part is that, their mission and vision statements in their corporate office is not matching the service i got.
