Everybody Loves Raymonds is currently being telecast on Star World at 8pm from Monday to Thursday. I would rate it as one of the best America Comedy and at par with my all time favorite Friends. The story revolves around Raymonds played by stand up comdian Ray Romano and his family.
Raymonds who is a sports writer lives with his wife and three kids (one girl and twin boys) in Long Island. Across the street lives his parents and elder brother Robbie who is a police officer. Every episode is a story in itself. There are 9 seasons with 24-25 episodes in each season. Most of the stories revolve around how Ray’s parents meddle in their lives and Ray is sandwiched between his wife and mother.
The actors are par excellence. Both Raymonds and Robbie are stand up comedian and their comic timing is amazing. The dialogues are funny and excellently penned down. Those who are married would be able to appreaciate the serial more as this serial shows the predicament of Ray who has to always choose between his mother and his wife. The Indian version of this is Sarabhai vs Sarabhai though the characters and stories are different. The serial though American is clean (by American standards) and most of us married Indians can relate to the episodes.
