Everybody Loves Raymond is one of the funniest TV shows I’ve seen in a long time and I seldom miss an episode.
The cast:
Raymond played by Ray Romano
He’s one of the funniest guys on TV. His facial expressions, ’’corny’’ one-liners are an excellent representation of 90’s male angst.
Debra
Ray’s wife. She’s confused. She loves her kids and husband but detests the daily visits of her next-door neighbours, Ray’s parents (and brother). She desperately wants Ray’s mom Marie to like her and can be real bitchy at times. Her best expression is when she calls Ray an idiot, without ever saying it!
Frank Barone
Ray’s dad. Frank is my hero. He is an old man who doesnot leave any opportunity to belittle his wife Marie. He loves food and TV.
Marie
One of the most irritating women on TV. She thinks she is the epitome of motherhood and the kitchen is her kingdom. The constant battle of wits between Marie and Debra (the daughter-in-law) provides a lot of laughs (unlike the Saas/Bahu trash on Hindi TV).
Robert
Ray’s elder brother. He’s a cop. He’s always been ignored (by his mother) and Ray gets all the attention.
My Recommendation
Don’t miss Everybody Loves Raymond for the world. Monday nights at 10 PM IST on Star World.
P.S. My favorite episode is the one when Ray can’t sleep cos Debra wants to touch and cuddle him. I can so relate to that!
