I had purchased a recliner from Evok, Faridabad on 14 dec 2008.. The recliner had leatherette upholstery . Its not even been 2 years and the leatherette has started pealing off from the headrest, armrest and footrest. Since I am currently residing in Ambala, I called up the nearest Evok outlet which happens to be at Zirakpur near Chandigarh. I explained the case to Mr Ajith at Evok , Zirakpur who in turn told me that the warranty is for only 01 year and that too does not include upholstery & asked me to contact the manufacturer of the said recliner M/S reclinerindia, Delhi for further action.
So much for after sale service!! Anyway, I called up M/S reclinerindia and spoke to Mr Dilip who asked me to bring the recliner back to his factory in Delhi & said that the leatherette would be changed at a charge of Rs 8000/-…..
So, the recliners bought from Evok for Rs 28000/- and above would entail repair charges of Rs 8000/- and additional transportation cost to the original manufacturer within just 02 years of purchase, with all the associated headache and heartache being yours!!
This shows how Evok as a brand, sells extremely poor quality furniture. I had purchased leatherette furniture from Durian in Sep 2008 and they are still as good as new. Even my leatherette car seat from a local vendor, which is 04 years old, is yet to show signs of cracking let alone peeling. So, I suggest, STAY CLEAR OF EVOK…
