Duh Aliens are here........

This is not for the weak of heart. It exhibits the fine art of Horror Alien movies at its finest. Excellent Animatronics, tight sequences, and first class acting, makes it a treat to watch.

The above is what you would like to read about most serious alien movies. This definitely aint one of them. Evolution is hilarious slapstick cult science fiction. But the whole thing is very professionaly done. The aliens are polished, the actors are very good, and the story is umm.... well not very mentally taxing. The viewer is never even once forced to quit drinking his cola or munching his Pop Corn. So what is it all about ??

Story: Ok meteorite fall from space. Big noise. It falls in a dead beat county in USA (all meteorites fall in the US, for that matter all bombs, Godzillas, Dinosaurs and most other danger things confine themselves to the US.) We have a couple of teachers (Duchovny and Orlando Jones) who go out to study the site. Orlando being a representative of the US Geographical Survey, has access to everything. Well atleast the deadbeat cops think so. Oh by the way Duchovny is deadbeat too, and we get the usual hints about a past filled with deep dark secrets. But he is a brilliant biologist. (Ooooh a brilliant biologist in deadbeat county, what an amazing coincidence). Anyway these two guys find out, through their own clandestine investigations, that the meteorite contains life forms evolving extremely fast. (Hence the name of the movie.... :)..)

Suddenly the military overtake the place, goof up, aliens on the loose, who can save the day from these fast growing, even faster replicating aliens ? (They do reproduce asexually...)..... I wont spoil it for you.

The film runs on the continuous tongue in cheek humour. The script drips with jokes and punchlines. Its a laugh riot all the way to the end. The shallow story is made up by the crisp editing and zippy pace.

Actors: David Duchovny is first class with his emotionless face. He sails threw the movie, wooden face, curt humour, oh-I’m-such-a-loser look and all. Great job, though it is very easy to find parallels between the X-Files style of acting and this one. But I guess he has become an alien killer for good.

Orlando Jones and Sean William Scott are brilliant in their respective roles. Again, they look vaguely, and perfectly stupid as the case may be, and fit the roles to a T.

Jullianne Moore is babe. Total. And she tries her best to sizzle, but... well she does ok. Of moderate ornamental value, and does do fairly well in the comedy sequences.

Special effects: Extremely good, great visuals, (you know its all fake, but good fakes nonetheless.), the aliens convey all the feeling the director wants to, and refreshingly, they never take the movie away from the actors themselves.

All in all a good night out. Lots to laugh about. The ending does feel a little contrived, but hell when its laughter all the way, you can take a breath or two now and then..

Watch it for some great laughs.... ONLY.
