I bought an Exide Home UPS(850 Pure Sinwave) From day 1, it was noisy and giving big Fan working sound as if a Generator is switched on. After few days, the Battery was drained out, then I realized that UPS was not functioning and all the time, it was running on backup. As we operate TV Rarely, the battery gave some life. I had to shut down the UPS from 3rd Oct and raised a complaint to Exide. Today it is 12th Oct 2012, none responded, even after my multiple calls to the toll free.
The wort experience started when I registered it for Warranty service. I provided all the details to the call centre guy and they gave me a warranty registration number which was equal to the Serial number of the product. Later when I called them for raising the complaint, to my shock, the call centre guy told me that I was never registred for warranty service. I once again shared all the details to them for registering. I received the complaint number and the SLA was 48 hours. But even after 9 days, none responded for service.
So my advice to all who are looking for the inverter is not to buy Exide Home UPS and get cheated. My friend who took the same model inverter along with me also experienced the noise issue and Exide is still not able to solve the issue. I repent on my decision to buy Exide where I was planning to buy other good brands. But only the Digital display look and the marketing capability of the shop owner turned it upside down.
