When you visit the expedia website, you would notice the toll free number under which it says same rates with expert advise. However when you call them, first there is no advise and when there is advise, it’s useless!
We were looking to travel abroad for a week and I thought of checking expedia. I liked the rates and thought of calling them to check if they have any packages. There IVR was easy to understand and I got through to a representative. I gave him my plans and he said he will call me back with details and I never got a call back or an email with rates.
Then, I called again ignoring the first lapse, I got through and a lady promised to guide me and she did get back with rates, only thing is those rates were almost 3 times what I could get!
Not to give up easily, I called them again for booking plans for different dates and this time the person who took the call said he could call me in 15 minutes with details and as expected, same thing, no one called me.
In any case, I had by then booked my air tickets on another website and hotel directly and planned my own package for the price I wanted and I am no expert.
I am glad that I did not book anything through them, if there pre-sale service is as bad as it is, what would they do after they have my money!
