This refers to the horrible I experience had with one of the leading shopping malls in Chennai yesterday. Me and my wife had been to Express avenue mall in Chennai yesterday(19-07-2014), to watch a evening show movie at escape cinemas. We parked in the parking lot Basement B2 and went. While returning, to our surprise, we found that our car was hit back and there was a severe damage to our car.
Immediately when we approached the nearby security person, to inquire about the same. He was clueless, we went immediately to the reporting manager of the mall, and expressed our interest and find out through video recording. security manager has advised us that they would back to us by tomorrow morning as it was closing hours.
The next morning as expected, the security manager has informed us, that there was no video recording available. So this is the fate of so called public malls in Chennai, it is so pathetic, the car where we parked there was no lighting, lousy security, spineless security.
If there were any criminal activity taking place, the management would have no record of it. Still they charge people exorbitantly for parking, with nil or minimum guarantee to your vehicle and your belongings. On the contrary, even if we miss the parking token, the abuse we receive from these parking malls so called security is so harsh. why we should run these so called malls in Chennai, with least facility in parking.
Yesterday, was mental agony so much so that we had to spent out of our pockets to repair our car’s damage. We put in forth this as a compliant, we would request compensation from EA mall minimum Rs10000/- for the damage of the car and the mental agony we suffered. we would hence forth put this in all public domain forums, if the same is not resolved. We would also put forth a complaint to commissioner of police Chennai, for shutting down this mall.
