I used Express to shift my household goods and car from Bangalore to Hyderabad. The initial response was very good. The guy Mr. Ajay came over and gave a exact estimate which they stuck to. The packing guys came and did a beautiful job packing the stuff (None of my glass stuff has broken during the transit). And then starts the nightmare. The goods to be delivered on come a day late. And when they opened the minivan, I was horrified.
They put the stuff of 2 people in the same minivan. The cartons were stacked one top of the other without consideration for what is delicate. There were some metal stuff of the other person in the van and these people put my tv trolley on top of that, breaking it into 2. Then my car arrives with the petrol tank empty (I gave them a half full tank) and the odometer has been shut down to stop me from knowing how much my car was driven. So, inspite of them assuring me that my car will be travelling in a trailer, I have a suspicion it was driven.
When I called Ajay back, he doesn’t pickup the phone. I dialed from a different number and he immediately picks up. I asked him him about the trolley and he said we can claim it using the insurance we opted for and that he will send a person to do the paperwork immediately. That was a month ago and no person has arrived nor is he picking up the phone again. I wonder what happened to the insurance money I paid. Whether it was really used for insurance at all.
