I read this novel in 2012. It was the first novel I read related to war. It is a spy thriller. The main character of the novel is Henry Faber a.k.a "Die Nadel"(German for the needle). He is a simple character, staying as a paying guest in old womens house(just like Sherlock). I was just browsing through books in a bookshelf at my friends when I came across this book.
The start is amazing. The plot of the book is compelling. The novel is very realistic and attention is given to every little detail. Lot of thought has been put while writing this book. One enemy spy knows the secret to the Allies greatest deception, a brilliant aristocrat and ruthless assassin - code name: "The Needle" - who holds the key to ultimate Nazi victory. Only one person stands in his way: a lonely Englishwoman on an isolated island, who is beginning to love the killer who has mysteriously entered her life. I found the ending of the book extraordinarily satisfying. It is top-notch suspense and the book is spell-binding.
