As they
say, in India, anyone can walk away after taking your money and you can
just stand there and twiddle your
thumbs. What they forgot to tell you was this can happen inspite of legal
promises being made by a famous travel website, whose management does not care
a hoot about resolving its customers concerns and takes pride in issuing full
page colour advertisements in National dailies, comfortably sitting on a pile
of the customers money.
Yes, Sir,
Welcome to https://ezeego1.com.
I had made various
travel related purchases on their website during the month of May 2008,
totalling about Rupees One Lac. I was entitled to cash back amount on these
purchases, which were to be credited back to my credit card account.
I had a **harrowing and most miserable
experience** in getting back the cash back amount. On sending email complaints to them, there is a standard reply which
is quoted below:
“Dear Sir/Madam,
Thank you for contacting
Customer Care. Your query has been forwarded to the concerned team who will
respond to you shortly.Your query Reference Number
is 75320 . Kindly quote this reference number for any future query on this
subject.
Kind Regards, Customer Care”
No one has called up till
date inspite of repeatedly sending them followup emails for last 3 months. And folks, they
have a smart way to go about it. Every time you send them a reminder email, they
will change the reference number and generate a new one.
Not making any headway, I
tried to persue the matter on phone. The call centre customer care executives
are smart enough to keep you on hold for 10 to 20 minutes, then tell you - “Sir,
I need to get all the details from the concerned department .I will call you
back with all the details in half/one hour”.This one hour never
materialises and phone call never comes.
Thru’ my dogged persuasion, I
was lucky enough to get back a part of cash back money which was due and for
the balance, the battle of nerves is continuing.
I’m looking at the positive
side of it all- “*It will instil dollops of patience in me and awaken me not to believe
on all that which glitters and is too good to be true”. LONG LIVE INDIAN LEGAL
SYSTEM!*
