Dont buy

I overlooked the reviews of mouthshut for Faber services and bought Hob.....so a sincere suggestion to all. Don’t buy Faber Hob


Here’s my story


I purchased a HOB & Chimney combo offer in Oct2009 from "HOBS & HOODS, Jayanagar"

(for easy ref: The hobhas black glass top)


My nightmare started within 2 months. one fine day, electric starter of all 4 burners started ignition automatically...without pressing of any knob. I had to switch off the supply. Called customer care, technician came after 2 days. Hetold that liquid material had gone inside and this is common problem. It automatically gets solved in 1-2 days after the liquid is dried.But he opened the Hob and wiped.


After another 2 months, all electric starter STOPPED working. Eactly oposite to what happened earlier. Again called customer care, again technician came told same reason for this problem also.


THIS FORCED ME TO THINK THAT WHY DID FABER DESINED HOB IN SUCH A WAY THAT ALLOWS PASSAGE TO LIQUID TO ITS INTERNAL AREAS. Water usually comes out of cooker while cookin Dal, boiling potatoes etc. Faber knows that its a hob and so should have done proper sealing design.


The best part of FAber is as below


11may10:one of the electric starter stopped working. Other 3 were normal. Called customer care.


13may10: Technician came and said starter needs to be replaced, tookxerox of warranty card and said that he will come within a week to replace.


27May10: 2weeks and no sign of technician. Called customer care again and I was told that tie-up with that particular center is over so they gave me new service center number. Called that number.


30May10: 2nd Tachnician came and told that the starter to be replaced and he will come after 2 days.


06June10: Called customer care again (pune). They told that they will check with service center and call back to me.


08June10: Called customer care again. same story


Called customer care and sent mail every day till 23rdJune.


Finally 3rd technician came on 26June and he told that thestarter is to be replaced. But since the hob was installed by another service center so a different technicianwill come next week.


Its now 50Days and pending....hope that by the time the starter will be replaced, we will be used to using lighter instead of electric starter
