We bought a Faber four stove auto ignition stove and a chimney two years back. Right from day one, we have had problems. It was delivered as a defective piece with one burner not working. The engineer who came to install, informed that this was a defective piece. After umpteen calls, we were asked to contact Manager in Pune who informed that since it had been unpacked, they could not replace it! How in the world would they know that it was defective unless it was unpacked? may be they should provide us and their engineers with x ray vision.
The auto ignition started only after a month. And from than on, every alternate month, one of the burners would stop working/ auto ignition would give a problem.
Also, the design is faulty as the knobs can be turned on during cleaning and one would not realize it. Of course, the engineer assured us that this was of no concern. The gas would not pass till it was lighted. Believe it or not.
Finally, a few months back it actually blew up. Yes. It blew up - all the knobs were thrown of so were some of the gas rings. They examined and said thre was no problem with the burner!
After many many calls, threats and warnings they have delivered a repaired product and asked us to try it. Can you believe that? What if it is still faulty? What if it blows up again? Are they going to leave it to the user to take all responsibility?
The experience has been a nightmare and yes about the chimney, well no problems on that end cos it fails to be effective in the first place.
