We bought a Faber Baffle chimney in 2004 and got thoroughly disenchanted with the product within the first few months of usage itself.
The oil and the grime collected in the baffle filter is impossible to clean. As advised by the Company, we tried hot soap water but to no avail. We tried scraping it physically, but that too is difficult. Cleaning with acid helped a bit.
Fed up with it, we called the dealer and asked him to clean it for us(on payment basis). But they too could not be of much help. Ultimately we bought a spare set of filters so that while one set is under cleaning, the other could be used.
The second problem we faced was the non-standard size of the bulb holder and to find suitable bulbs which could fit as a replacement.
The third and the most serious problem made us throw out the product completely. While cooking, the chimney just fell on the cooker and the gas stove while cooking was in progress. All the 3 equipments were severely damaged but fortunately no person was close enough to get hurt / burnt. We complained to the dealer and the Company about the faulty / inadequate strength of the fixtures, but it fell on deaf ears.
Last 2 years we are happily back to an exhaust fan with annual painting for the kitchen!
