Well got this heatkraft and fitted out over 5 yrs ago in our kitchen. And yes still now its going very well.
The ordering -
Well we fitted this one while we wer painting our kitchen to Orange Red(as per Vasthu shastra). We only decide a couple of days before painting the walls. So went to viveks, Tnagar, Ordered one and told them to come the final day of painting because the chimney is to be fitted on the wall.
The Delivery and installation -
Before delivery we explained them on how our fresher fan system is and do we have to make any alterations. They said yes, we have to. They wanted us to remove the kitchen ventilation fan, Fill the big hole with cement so that it leaves behind a small hole of the size of a big PVC Pipe for Chimney outlet.
So first before painting, we just did wat they said and started to paint the kitchen. It was three Layer coating and the painter said the chimney should be fixed after 2nd Coating. So we asked them to come for installation just the next day of finishing the 2nd coating.
That means, we finished the 2nd coating by 5pm and after drying up time overnight, we asked the Faber guys to come the next day morning for installation. And just like we requested, They we here the next day morning!
So they smoothly and softly did the installation without giving any damage to wall or the new paint and job was done perfectly.
Thou There wer no installation charges required, we gave them Rs.200 Tips for their work! And then after noon, we finished the 3 rd coating and its was all done just nicely.
So it was a well planned work and it all went as planned and that is why I guess the chimney is still working great.! Thanks to painters as well as the Viveks-Faber team!
Service -
Thou the purchase, delivery and installations wer good, the Faber service is absolutely Worst. U call them and they say they will send the service persons but they never send them. And they send it after couple of days and on the day which we never want them to come as we all r office goers.
So 2nd attempt, we again called up Faber for service and luckily a person came the very next day.! It was surprising. He does the service with excellency and my mom liked his work.! becoz my mom likes cleanliness. After the service, that guy requested us to call him directly for the service form next time onward, so that he would come for sure. And From that service onward, we only call that guy and service the Chimney.
Procedure to keep faber durable -
1) Clean the chimney every 6 months or atleast 9 months once. It depends on how much oil it gets. If u use lots of oily preparation, then u would need service every 3 months. otherwise its 6/9 months for sure.
2) Use as prescribed. Always switch the Fan speeds from 1-2-3 and slow down from 3-2-1 and then off. Never jump to 2 or 3 directly OR turn off from 3.
3) Use the correct plug socket for the device. Ask the service guy for knowing this.
4) Use the Integrated lights only if necessary, or else dont use it!
5) Do a full service every 2 yrs once. Here the Service guys Disassembles everything including motor, the whole set and even the exhaust pipe as far a possible.
The bad thing I have noticed with this chimney is, the Glassy top gets oily after few days of use and its not removable. that gives a ugly look to the system. It causes sticky too.
Overall, Faber Chimneys are really recommended to buy and use. U need to take care of this product very well. Clean and service it often, otherwise the chimney would start to malfunction very soon and that will end u up at service centers and give negative feedback at MS here.
