I have been a huge fan of Fabindia since a very long time now. I have often purchased their clothes, edible items etc till now.Last week, I also purchased a book rack from them. I have to say, I fell in love with the same, the moment I saw it in the Gurgaon shop.
My only point of conern is that Fabindia a) does not give any discount on bulk purchase. They say, it has to be more than 40, 000 atleast, on which they give 10% discount. This I felt was ridiculous for someone who is shelling out approx 12k for a book rack.
b) They do not provide any assembling services per say. My book rack was given to me in pieces and told to assemble myself. I told them that I do not have the time or the energy or the enthusiasm for the same.
I was told that they will send people to do the same but they will charge me for the same. Now, I have been buying furniture from lots of shops off lately (since I am furnishing my entire house) and every shop provides free assemly service. This was just not done.
Infact, I sent my driver to pick these guys up and once the work was done, we gave them some money for their return. To which, they refused, saying that they need car drop. This is absolutely ridiculous in my opinion. This whole issue took place over a matter of 4 kms in Gurgaon itself.
What a fab shop, what fab products and such poor customer service. How do they expect to survive when every second shop sells organic or eco friendly materials...
I can only wonder....
