WHAT is the attraction to this stupid site? I still don’t understand how you actually make friends on it. - I signed up, simply because there were old friends of mine I wanted to get in touch with, which I did manage to do.
It sent pictures of about 30 people to my Inbox which I had NOT asked it to do, saying "This person wants to be your friend" - what I want know is, HOW did it decide which people to pick? Was that decided by an ALGORITHM, a SERVER?
That’s the most disgusting, heinous concept I’ve ever HEARD of. I HATE the design - making friends is supposed to be a JOYOUS experience, this looks like a spreadsheet!
However, they HAVE done things with Ajax for the "Friends" popup box, as well as the Message thing, which shows PHOTOS of people who contact you, which are cool, and which I respect. But that’s still quite a tiny innovation I think.
So - I wouldn’t use it. I’d recommend everybody to stay away from it as well, because every time you go to make FRIENDS, you’re doing so within the precincts of a commercial entity!
Which I DON’T like. Can’t someone make something better than this?
