Being one of the latest spin-offs of Fair and Lovely, Godrej’s Fairglow Facial Cream is an all around average product. All these creams have one thing in common and that is: they leave your face feeling suffocated. Fair and Lovely however, recently established the Herbal Cream, which is less ’’thick and suffocating’’ to the skin, so many people might be attracted to that, instead of Fairglow. But, I think people should give this product a try. Its not the worst cream ever, and its certainly not the best, it falls somewhere smack dab in the middle.
Fairglow says that the cream works best in conjunction with the soap. This is VERY TRUE. The soap is bascially the cream, in a soap form. The soap is quite harsh on the skin (leaving you dry, rashed-up, and red all over) but it does give you a bright, light, fair glow. Which is what the product basically is selling. So I guess it does have strings attached. The cream has all-natural ingredients including the active ingredient ’’Natural Oxy-g’’ which is just an oxygen based agent that helps your pores breathe and clear away dull, dead skin. This is what attracted me to Fairglow...this ingredient.
However, Fairglow unfortunatley falls flat in the end. The cream is very thick. Its white in color, and feels like slathering on a topical antibiotic. So one can confidently say, ’’It feels like crap!’’ The fragrance is pleasent, but not as fresh as Fair and Lovely.
But enough of all this, the main objective of this product is to give you ’blemish free fairness’. So does it...? Well, scientifically NO. The cream acts like a mask. On application you will feel as though you are painting your face with procelian paint. Okay...maybe thats extreme. but you get the picture! It stands as just a wall against your natural skin. When you apply it, you will notice INSTANTLY your skin looking, well, ’’fairer’’. That light radiance is not your skin losing its melanin, ofcourse not. Its just the ’’WHITE’’ cream clogging your pores. The color of the cream plays an essential part in the product.
So what is it about Fairglow that makes it average and not total crap? The fact that it glides on smoothly for such a thick cream, is pretty amazing. Seriously. Also, the cream aids in hiding blemishes and acne/marks because the cream stands over them pretty profoundly, diminishing the look of these kinds of imperfections. Also...it does give you ’’fair skin’’ for the duration the cream SITS on your face. So you have to give it credit for that.
The question is, should you guys purchase Fairglow? To be honest, its completley your choice. If you have bad skin, and you need a quick fix-up, then Fairglow can surpisingly benefit you there. Scary huh? But, if you dont want to feel stiff, and look like a pale, flaky mess than I suggest you pass on this one. And...how can I forget: If you want to become fair...face it, this product and NO product can do that. Just love it for what it is.
