Maneesh Sharma’s Bollywood movie “Fan” is a stew of thrill and drama. Breaking the forever-the-same-climax stigma, this movie gives goose bumps till the end of the show. Shah Rukh Khan starring in double role as super actor, Aryan Khanna and also as a super fan Gaurav.
Gaurav is a die-hard fan of film star Aryan and he embarks on his journey from Delhi to Mumbai to wish his idol on his birthday. Gaurav has a striking resemblance to his star. When Gaurav doesn’t get what he wishes for, his passion and admiration takes a dangerous curve of obsession. How potentially fanatical a fan becomes when a superstar avoids him? What makes his so-whimsical fan into an obsessive maniac? The Fan has all the answers to this doubts.
This makes the main crust of the movie. The usual romantic story is not to be expected. SRK has done a marvelous acting job which reminds me why I watch DDLJ, Chak De India and Swades over ‘n’ number of times. SRK is back people.
Though the movie is inspired from a Hollywood movie under the same title but Maneesh Sharma has succeeded in making the story last for 150 minutes with edge-of-the-seat craze without snowballing the essence of 1st half from the 2nd half. Storyline in first hour is engaging compared to latter part but always connected. Movie is to be watched without expectations and just going with the flow of storyline. It leaves a curve on your face and definitely walking home happily.
The background music by Andrea Guerra, songs by Vishal-Shekhar and Manu’s cinematography is definitely something to feast your senses on. The 3D imagining did wonders in making SRK look like a 25-years-old young boy. The trailer itself gave some awe and shock reactions on SRK’s younger look. Shriya Pigaonkar, daughter of Sachin Pigaonkar, has done her act well considering she has done only flicks.
SRK has turned a new leaf after many years in industry by taking on a role not-so-mainstream. It’s a must watch for SRK fans and also for those who forgot why SRK is a superstar. So enjoy your show with some popcorn and cheers.
