To start with, the chemistry between Aamir and Kajol didnt work. Although the movie brought togather two finest actors of todays cinema, but the twosome failed to impress.
First half of the movie exhibits the love and romance between Rehan (Aamir Khan) and Zooni (Kajol Devgan) which culminates in unfortunate seperation. Second half, depicts their re-union amidst the backdrop of Terrorism. The re-union was much more interesting than the love and romance as it lacked that Yash Chopra feel to it.
Kajol as Zooni (a blind girl) give full justice to the role. But was not able to create an unforgetable character. Zooni will be forgotten as soon as Fanaa will be.
The character of Aamir in the first half reminds us of a distorted version of Raja Hindustani. Rehan, in the second half, as a father-killer-terrorist-lover was impeccable.
Songs of the movie are nothing to boast about. The movie has to offer only two nice songs -
Chaand Sifarish
Mere haath mein
The movie lacked feelings. The concept and story was impeccable but the way it was presented failed to impress. Despite awesome performances, superb cinematography, interesting story, the movie lacked the extra zing about it which is hallmark of Yash Chopra movies.
But this is one-time watchable movie, if not on Multiplex, then rent a dvd and watch if there is nothing else worth doing.
But be prepared for the disappointment which this movie is gonna offer.
