Fanna I am sorry to say is one of the most Dishonest movies of recent times. well you must be thinking why I used the word dishonest? the reason being because the director Kunal Kohli has not done justice to a wonderful story .
Kunal didn’t make it a love story or a thriller! in fact he tried to do so many things but its his sheer luck and some needless controversy that he has managed to hit the jackpot.
Aamir Khan in first half is a road romeo the type of character he played in Raja Hindustani a sadak chaap street smart guide who uses all his intelligence to outsmart some girls who have come from Kashmir to Delhi for 26 January Celebrations.
Aamir uses those cheap 3 rate sms type shayris to impress these naive Kashmiri girls lead by their teacher Lillete dubey its sad to see Lillete do such insignificant roles she deserves much better.
Kajol play a blind Kashmiri girl who is a part of this troupe. she falls in love with this extra smart guide who actually is a undercover Terrorist.
Rishi Kapoor and Kiron kher are Kajol’s parents rishi has done a fairly decent job but poor kiron kher she is such a talented lady its sad to see her get such short and senseless roles
Aamir the undercover Terrorist as a guide uses all his charm to take the blind girl to bed. and then dumps her and vanishes to continue his Jihad.
End of First part
In the second half the Terrorist Aamir ison which his Jihad gets injured and lands up in Kajols house kajol who now has got her eyes back and Plus a love child thanks to the lover Terrorist.
Kajol and Aamir are supposed to be Kashmiris arnt they? I want to ask Kunal Kohli that by just shooting in snow does not make someone a Kashmiri? there is nothing to prove that they are Kashmiris.
Rishi Kapoor is an Alchoholic who drinks night and day. Aamir Khan who is a Muslim Terrorist also joins Rishi Kapoor in his drinking bouts and kajol is shown pouring drinks.
Kunal which place of earth are you from? arnt we supposed to belive that muslim militants abhor alchohol and suppose if the Kashmiri Kajols family is a modern one then what are they doing in remote snow capped mountains?
Then there is Tabu who plays a army officer. Tabu what will it take to make you realise that you are looking patheticly plastic these days?
Aamir confesses to Kajol that infact it was he who was the guide and the father of her child and Kajol slaps him when he tries to leave saying" Woh mujhe chod kar nahin jaa sakte" but soon the same kajol turns desh bhakt and informs the army about her Terrorist Anti National Lover..
In the climax Kajol turns from a lover girl into (mother india) and shoots her terrorist lover.
The better points of the movie is Kajol she is stunning aamir is passable, music is good and background music is superb.
There are so countless flaws in the movie.
Kunal kohli knows hardly anything about a kashmiri or a muslim culture(in one scene rishi kapoor is shown doing nikha from quran) Kunal has tried too many things in one movie. Love story in first part. Masala with a dose of jingoism in second part. had it not been for the Aamir Gujrat controversy this movie was not worth more than a week in cinema but as they say Jo Jeeta woh Sikandar and Fanna is undeserving winner
