After listening to the songs for the first time, I decided to write this and wanted to convey my thoughts on how this album has shaped out. On the first hear, this sounds more melodious than the recent albums out there. Though I dont think the songs are the greatest I have heard, but I know for a surety that it will slowly make its presence felt.
A few Songs elevate this album but there are for sure some ordinary numbers in the album.
The first track,
Chaand Sifaarish (4/5) Sung By Shaan & Kailash Kher - This starts with the humm of Shaan and the resonance of Kailash Kher high pitch voice. The tabla gives it a qawali feel but this sounds more of celebration of love when the song goes through the first phases. It is like the hero wants to stop whatever he is doing(whether good or bad) and wants to just tell her how much he wants to love her. Kailash Khers interludes are brilliant and gives a great feel to the song. He also describes that whatever he thinks is about her and also that he cant describe everything to her in words and wants to show it more in actions.
Mere Haath Mein (4/5) Sung By Sonu Nigam and Sunidhi - A arabic touch given to the song but it is very soothing song. Beautiful lyrics and excellent rendering of the song by the ever dependent Sonu and Sunidhi. Both their voices give the required haunting feel to the song as if this is a song when there are too many thoughts in both the heros and heroines mind and the exchange needs to take place. Kajol and Aamir render a few lines and has a lot of depth in them. A must hear song.
Dekho Na (3/5) Sung by Sonu and Sunidhi - An ordinary candyfloss song. Not great but an ordinary song. Nothing much to describe in this and you will understand when u hear this one.
Chanda Chamke (3.5/5) Sung by Babul Supriyo, Mahalaxmi Iyer, Aamir Khan , Kajol & kids - I give this a good rating as this is feel nice children song. There is so much fun and exuberance given out from this song. Kajol and Aamir adding to the fun using a few twisters and I am sure this song will be more of visual treat.
Des Rangela (3/5) Sung By Mahalakshmi - This has good lyrics and the singing is also rendered well. This has a very repeated sound from the umpteen number patriotic songs we have heard. Strictly ok song.
The next 2 songs are instrumental - One which is Mere Haath in a lounge mix which is very much in sync with the mood of the music but the only song which is off the sound the album potrays is the last one which has a lot of western beats which is great if it only was placed in a remix album or something. It should not have been placed in this album.
There you have it the review of the album which I think most of you will agree. Anyways till the next big release comes.....
Album Rating - (3.5/5)
