Short Poem on Faraway Tree

At some place in the enchanted woods

Is the tall towering faraway tree

Where you can visit distant lands

And pick fruits for free!

Inside the tree live mainly

Queer Astonishing folk

There’s Moonface, there’s Silky

And the angry Pixie!

There’s Dame Washalot

Who washes quite a lot

And the saucepan man

Carrying good saucepan!

And upon this tree who should stumble

But little kids like you and me

It was a surprize to them at first

Until they came to know its free!

They made friends with the tree folk

Climbed up the giant-sized tree

And came down on a cushion thru

Moonface’s slippery slip!

A wonderful time they had

Visiting various lands

Liking and hating them

Queer types of lands!

They had some adventures

And enjoyed themselves too!

They said not a ’but’ nor any ’er’s’

And had bad times Few!

That’s all I can say

Without giving away

Any of the plots

Now I’ll be on my way!
