One more flop for Manoj ’terrible’ Bajpayee! This is the unanimously accepted opinion of all who have watched this film. In fact, it is no exaggeration to call this as one of his worst flops. This disastrous film has made last week’s disaster YAKEEN look like a classic. The film is BAD, right from the script to the execution level.
Add a bit of DISCLOSURE , FATAL ATTRACTION and BASIC INSTINCT , the garbage in the name of entertainment called FAREB is ready to be served !
There’s nothing new in the movie. The story of husband having extra marital affair has been repeated so many times that it hardly generates any excitement. Poor direction, shabby story treatment and loose editing make the whole project weak.
DEEPAK TIJORI , the name is known for cheap and downmarket films like OOPS and KHAMOSH .And must say , he lives upto his name with another sleazy and vulgar affair !
The another similarity between YAKEEN and this film is that both are so called suspense thrillers and I am giving it away yet again !
The whole film can be divided into the following parts
An affair
An Unholy obsession
A murder
A blackmail
The film begins with a terrible murder of a person called Amit Singhaniya [Bakul Thakker] .Later we are told that he was a corporate honcho and was married to seductress Riya [Shamita Shetty] .Naturally after the death of her husband , Riya joins the office and starts to work as business women in AD agency .
AD expert Aditya [Manoj Bajpayee ] is living content life with his wife Neha [Shilpa Shetty] and kids .Both of them loves each other madly .Neha is Doctor but there is only one scene where hospital is shown !
Things take a turn when Riya and Aditya meet at their AD presentation and she gets attracted to him. Riya is attracted by Aditya’s Charm[ ?] and tries to seduce him time and again. At first , Aditya ignores her but finally surrenders to her beauty .In fact the duo starts to romance even in public places !But their relationship is more of lust than love.....
But things get serious when a person starts to blackmail Aditya in the name of those Photos where he is being sedcuted by Riya ! But strangely apart from receiving phones from Blackmailer, Aditya does nothing to protect him ! And Turns into bebda POOR SHAHRUKH KHAN type DEVDAS !!
Here comes another twist , Riya [Shamita] is murdered by someone and since all evidence point towards Adiyta, he is arrested by police [Kelly ’’ Bhayanak’’ Dorjee !]. Poor Neha now comes to know about the extra marital affair of her husband with Riya .
There ensues courtroom battle which looks like childplay thanks to poor handling by Deepak Tijori .Take the scene where Manoj is crying in the court and saying to Shilpa , ’’I love you !’’
The climax is outright stupid .The wife Neha goes in search of that Photographer who was blackmailing Aditya and finds him as if it is cakewalk to find a person in city like Bombay !
The photographer called CHANDER VERMA tells in the court that RIYA [SHAMITA ] had killed her own husband ! And was sleeping with Manoj and many others !! And also Manoj had nothing to do with Riya’s murder !! Court finally releases Manoj !!
Here comes another twist !!! Manoj had actually murdered Riya as he was not in his sense thanks to DARU BOTTLE !! And his wife Neha [the great] is aware of it but forgives him !!
And FAREB finally reaches to its happy and much needed destination: The End!
Here is yet another addition to list of D grade film with A grade cast [excluding Manoj !] !!
No character is given due justice, be it the top protagonists or the villain (Shamita) or anyone else. The best part of the whole film was an AD of spykear Jeans which was shown in first part of the film !
Forget the story, but the writer has failed very badly to TAKE further the story once the identity of Shamita as playgirl is revealed. Then she is suddenly murdered nowhere and film takes all together a new pathetic path .
Even the first half has many slow and unwanted scenes, like the track between Shilpa and Manoj in the beginning is mere excuse for a skin show !
To start with, one has to say that the lead protagonists have no chemistry on the screen. Manoj and Shilpa never look like made for each other and the same can be said about Shamita and Manoj.
The viewer gets an impression that he’s watching an Ekta Kapoor TV serial with heavy doses of SEX scenes on the big screen. The music is nothing to write home about. The songs are unevenly placed and this goes against the film. Their filming is worse than B grade films !
Director Deepak Tijori was a terrible actor and far more terrible director ! Get out man from this industry .There is no place for idiot and sick minded people like you here !
Manoj Bajpayee is terrible in his role .He is just not worth it .When he breaks into shayari , you want to give him one hard slap ! He is pathetic !!! His dance is harmful to your eyes in song BARAS JAA !And why on this earth he has to flaunt his terrible physique time and again ?
The job of Shetty sisters is to do ooooh , aah , ouch in the film ! Just a joke ! They are brilliant .Shamita Shetty is a treat with her performance .Shilpa is another topper .But film is such a bad that their good performance is a waste !
In short , FAREB is a terrible film in every aspect .Stay away from it like AIDS !
